Sinkhole

This was a dangerous sink hole that had formed due to a damaged rainwater pipe .

We dug down to the pipework to find that a poor connection from a pitch fibre pipe to clay pipe was part of the problem, but also found that a full collapse further down the clay pipe was also causing this sink hole.

We removed the old clay pipe and replaced with new upvc 100mm pipe, connecting on to the pitch fibre pipe using a dc coupling then feeding the other end into the soakaway, making sure sufficient fall was on the pipe.

Both ends were concreted in, then 10mm shingle surrounded the pipework.

Backfilled to exsisting levels, topsoil used to bring up to level then returfed.
