Soakaway access

This customer has a treatment plant which pumps the water to a soakaway after treatment.

They have had problems with blockages in the pipework before, so wanted the pipework altered to be able to access before the soakaway in case of any future problems.

To create access we constructed a chamber using concrete sections. We laid a sufficient concrete base for the sections to sit on, then laid the first section and surrounded with more concrete. We then laid the second on a sand and cement bed, and once installed, used a 4” grinder to half moon the pipework creating a channel.

Sand and cement was then used to bench up inside the chamber and a new 600/450 cover and frame was installed in top of the concrete sections. We back filled the hole up to level and finished off with top soil and raked of to level.
